Hooray! So glad you are thinking about joining us for a crop! We have a wonderful group and are looking forward to having you with us! I am assuming that you are already somewhat familiar with scrapbooking and have a project in process, so if you are a true beginner and will need some coaching to help you get started, please let me know so that I can be prepared to do that.

Crops are held at my NEW permanent crop venue, which is at 8006 Old Madison Pike, Suite 3, Madison AL 35758. It can be hard to see the suite numbers (and in my opinion they are assigned “backwards” anyway) but as you enter the parking lot, look straight ahead and slightly to the right. There is a “tower” there with the 8006 address on it, and Suite 3 is directly to the right of that. There is a big sign that says “Scrapbook Studio” that will help you find us!

Every guest gets their own 6’ table and it is okay for you to bring in a small side table or wagon with your supplies, as long as you do not go out more than 2’ from the table and stay within your own 6’ space. The chairs are hard plastic so you may want to bring a seat cushion since an 8 hour crop can mean a lot of sitting! Lighting is good, but the temperature can be hard to control so dressing in layers is always a good idea! Feel free to pull your car up to the curb (even though it’s painted red!) to unload your supplies before you park.

Please be courteous of the other croppers. If your personal supplies take up more than your own 6’ table worth of space, you may be asked to return some things to your car and get individual items as you need them. If you need to take a phone call that will last longer than about 60 seconds PLEASE do not sit at your table and talk on the phone - even if you think it doesn’t bother other people, it really does. There’s a couch by the front door or you can go on the front sidewalk which is covered. Also please refrain from strongly scented perfumes, oils or lotions, because when we’re all in a room together for several hours that can affect some of our regular croppers.

I have a large inventory of Creative Memories products available for purchase at my events, and you of course are welcome to bring any supplies you may already own (regardless of brand or where you purchased them - I’m not the CM police, I promise!) However, it is the sale of Creative Memories products that allows me to host these events, so I request that you do not promote other products while at my events.

I have some of our current punches and cutting tools available for you to try out, but you will need your own trimmers and adhesive. If you are just starting out, ask me about my “Rental Tool Box” which you can use for $10 per crop, it contains a 12” Trimmer, Personal (photo) Trimmer, Scissors, Zero-Centering Ruler and Corner Rounder.

If you need to have photos printed, there is a Walgreens at 298 Hughes Road (corner of Hughes and Old Madison Pike) and a CVS directly across the street from it at 8502 Old Madison Pike.

Light snacks, soda and water are provided as part of your crop fee. I also have a water dispenser if you want to bring a water bottle or a cup with a lid (open containers and scrapbooking don’t mix!)

On the weekends we do potluck meals for both Friday dinner (about 5 pm) and Saturday lunch (about noon) EXCEPT for special events like National Scrapbook Day and Croptoberfest. On Wednesdays some of the people bring a lunch and others go together on a take-out or delivery order. Whichever you prefer is fine!

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask! I will do my best to help you feel comfortable at our crops - I know it can be a scary step to come scrapbook with people you don’t know yet! You’ll know us soon!
