Happy New Year, scrapbook friends! I hope you have had a lovely holiday season and made lots of great new memories.
This is coming to you a little later than I like to send it, but because of the Monday holiday, the new product will not be launching until Tuesday at noon. My oldest daughter had to fly back home to Pennsylvania this afternoon (yes, New Year’s Eve) and I figured you guys would be okay with me coming to your inbox later than usual so I could enjoy my last few hours with her!
The next email is likely to be later than usual too - I’ll be heading down to Florida on Wednesday and will be there for almost 10 days - we are dropping my younger daughter off for the Disney College Program, and of course I am taking the opportunity to visit my favorite Mouse! I’ll be home when the midmonth products are released but it does take me a little while to write these emails so it’ll probably be more like Sunday night instead of Sunday morning next time. I have SO much to tell you, and I don’t want to overwhelm you - I try to break everything up by sections so please at least read the part in the blue bar to know which sections apply to you! (And of course I always appreciate all of you who read to the end!)
For my local customers, I am also trying something new regarding how I have you order new products to pick up from me. Please read the section that applies to that. Hopefully it’ll work - I’m still quite technologically challenged, as you all know, plus I’m trying to set this all up after a hectic few weeks! If it weren’t for the last minute, nothing would get done, right??

If your New Year’s Resolution includes “make more time for scrapbooking!” you might want to join us for an event - it’s the best way I’ve found to actually focus on scrapbooking without the distractions around my house! January’s schedule is slightly mixed up because of the aforementioned trip to Florida, but we should get closer to normal in February!

January Jammies Crop: (This is our only weekend crop in January). Friday, January 26, noon - 9 pm and/or Saturday, January 27, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. My husband will come cook “breakfast for dinner” for us on Friday night, but sadly he has another commitment on Saturday morning so can’t cook us breakfast again the next day. We’ll just have to have him make extra Friday night!

Farewell to a dear scrapbook friend

Before I go any further, I want to take a minute to pay tribute to one of my dearest scrapbooking friends, who so many of you have had the opportunity to crop with over the years. Judy Haywood was one of my very first Creative Memories customers here in Alabama, and she passed away on December 27 at the age of 80. I was able to attend her funeral and it was mentioned several times by her family and even her pastor how much her scrapbooking group meant to her — and I know for sure that she knew we loved her too. She was able to attend our crop on December 15 & 16 and I think it’s wonderful that she was able to continue doing this thing she loved right up until the end of her life. She will be sorely missed.
Someone asked me recently about the highlights of my year, and I have to say it was when Judy’s 80th birthday fell on a scheduled Saturday crop and we managed to pull off a surprise party for her! It was perfect!

I had so many people ask me if we would be doing Jumpstart January again this year that even though my January is crazy and I can’t promise I’ll be completely on top of things, we are doing it again anyway!
Join our Jumpstart January group on Facebook and starting at 9:00 am on January 1st, I will post a layout sketch or inspiration layout every day of the month. You will then have 24 hours to create a layout based on that sketch and post it in the group. Each day I will do a drawing for a $10 CM website credit from the names of everyone who shared the daily layout. At the end of the month, everyone who completed all 31 layouts (not necessarily every day) will be entered to win a $100 CM credit! But even if you aren’t able to complete all of them, it can be a great way to “jumpstart” your scrapbooking for the new year!

Rocket City Retreat Mission 16

I still have spaces available for our first retreat of 2024! We loved the new venue (SpringHill Suites Downtown Huntsville) SO much and I am excited that we get to go back there! Rocket City Scrapbook Retreat Mission 16 Thursday, February 29 - Sunday, March 3 (begins and ends at 3:00 pm). Retreat fee of $230 includes lunch and dinner during the retreat. Hotel guests have breakfast included with their room rate which is either $139/$149 per night in the all-suite hotel.

For the past several years I have kept up with a Happy Album Calendar Journal, and many of you have joined me. The secret is that you HAVE TO keep up with it every month - so to help with that we have a group that meets on the second Tuesday of the month. This year we are going to combine the in-person and the virtual (if that ends up not working we will split off the virtual!)

Have you tried out CM’s custom spines yet? They are a great way to identify the contents of your albums without having to pull them off the shelf. I didn’t think I “needed” this feature, but gave it a try anyway. A little while later, my husband told me he loved it. He said “I never knew which album was which, and now I do!” I had always known which album was which by the color, but never realized that he did not! Since then I have continued to create custom spines for most of my albums, and they’re reasonably priced at only $10 each. Right now though, you can save 33% if you buy three or more!! So this is a great time to give it a try! I did a YouTube tutorial about how to create your custom spine a couple of years ago, but it is still the same process. New products this time are launching on TUESDAY, January 2 at noon Central so our hard-working CM Home Office staff can have the holiday off tomorrow! I will be ordering samples and having them shipped to my hotel in Florida so hope to still get a new products video posted for you later this week - but I can’t promise when that will happen, it might not be till Sunday!

The Banner BMC creates a continuous border AND you can use the cutouts as bonus banners.

Coordinating with the This Life collection but also things that will work great on their own we have the:
Calendar Kit Bundle: the 12x12 Calendar refill pages have been discontinued, so instead we have this new bundle that includes 12 pieces of double-sided designer paper, one side with a calendar grid and one side with a tonal design. You also get 12 double-sided border strips, two sticker sheets (I admit I have no idea what they say!), 12 Monthly Title Embellishments, and two sheets of calendar number stickers! I don’t have a need for the 12x12 calendar pages since I use the Happy Album kit, but I love the monthly titles and the date numbers, and I can use the tonal side of the designer papers for anything I want!!
Hate journaling because you’re afraid you’ll make a mistake or your words won’t fit? Try the new Write On Stickers, which are great for adding journaling strips to your layout - if you make a mistake on one, just don’t use it and start on another one, before you stick them down! These sticker strips are either 1/4” or 3/8” wide by 6” (which you can trim to fit your layout).
Finally, the very popular Rainbow Refresh Bundle is back! This was available for less than 24 hours back in September - I was traveling that day and missed out on it, so I am thrilled it is back! This includes the cute Polka Dot Pod Organizer, the multicolor Power Layout Guides (which is what I use to divide my cardstock!) and a 20-piece Cardstock Sampler Pack.

Thanks to all of you for such a fantastic scrapbooking year! I hope we will be able to crop together sometime soon, whether in person or virtually!
Hopefully you all know how very much I appreciate that you choose to purchase your Creative Memories products from me! This year I had reinstated my monthly $100 CM credits drawings, but that only rewarded a handful of people, and you’d be surprised at how many winners never contacted me to redeem their prize!
Instead, I am starting a new Memory Keeper’s Club program for 2024.
