Quick 3rd quarter updates

Happy Sunday, scrapbook friends! I am coming to you later than normal today due to some sad news - yesterday, on the actual 14 year anniversary of adopting our tuxedo cat Simon, we lost him. I discovered this just as I was walking out the door (behind schedule!) for day two of our Memories Matter in-person fundraiser, and I want to send my heartfelt thanks to Kay and Carrie who came by my house to get the studio key and let people in, and all the rest of the croppers at the event who were so compassionate to me and showed me such love on a day when I really needed the support.

It hit me harder than I expected, and last night after I got home I should have been writing this so it could go out Sunday morning, and I just could not.

Simon loved to test out my empty CM boxes and I have many fun memories of him “helping” me unload new products!

Thankfully this is a short update - with one BIG announcement - but hopefully you didn’t need the whole day to consider. :) I think we will have our big July release on the 7th but truthfully I have no idea anymore. But watch for another email from me next Sunday. On time, I hope. :)

Event Schedule

A new month means a new event sign up for events at my studio in Madison, Alabama. I do all signups on a Google form, and I suggest you check the box that says “send me a copy of my responses” so you can remember as well. :) I do try to send a reminder email a day or two ahead of time but I know it’s hard to know your whole month in advance.

Wednesday Day Crops: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm (new time for 2025)
Wednesday, July 2, 9, 16 & 23 No frills, just time to work on your current projects. Bring your own lunch or we usually go in on a DoorDash order. Wednesdays never sell out so if you decide in the morning that you need a spontaneous crafting day, shoot me a message and odds are we can fit you in!

Happy Album Circle: 6:00 - 8:00 pm
In Person: MONDAY, July 7th
On Zoom: Wednesday, July 9th

Weekend Crops: Friday, noon - 9:00 pm and/or Saturday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. July 11 & 12, July 18 & 19. (Dates are weird the next couple of months because I will be out of town for several weeks in July/August).

Project Recipe Layout Class, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Tuesday, July 22. No idea which layouts we are doing this month - it depends on what CM releases between now and then! You can also add on the monthly Simple Page Kit for an additional $5 (it’s a $6 retail value!)

I am undecided about some things in August - so if you were planning to attend the Kids Crop on August 23, please let me know. If that’s a bad date (like May was!) I might put a regular crop on that weekend instead.

The Longest Day fundraiser crop

Y’all, I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the response to our Alzheimer’s Association fundraiser crop this year!! (So is my contact from the charity, Cecile Stratton, who came up to my in-person event this past Friday!)

Between the virtual event (which was the big moneymaker) and the in-person event (which raised over $2000 by itself!) we are at over $53,000 in donations directly to the Alzheimer’s Association! The number on the check represents the total amount on Friday, but after donations made at the in-person event on Saturday plus a percentage of CM products purchased at the crop I was able to add another $600 last night.

It is not too late!! If you would like to make a donation of $35 or more, you’ll gain access to FIFTEEN exclusive layout designs, each with a printable handout and unlisted YouTube video walking you through how to create it. (You can see a sneak peek of some of the finished layouts I did based on the other designers’ ideas in the picture above). You have till July 7th to share your layouts to be eligible to win a $25 CM credit, but the layouts themselves will be available to you for as long as Facebook and/or YouTube let us keep them up! (There is a non-FB option if you need that!)

Retreat Update

Ugh. Back to bad news. I thought I had a good talk with the Marriott event sales director, but the numbers she came back to me with were literally DOUBLE what I told her we can afford. I am going to talk to her again but right now it’s not looking good for our September 18-21 event.

If you know of a venue that can fit at least 40 croppers with on-site sleeping rooms within two hours of Huntsville, please let me know. I feel like I’ve exhausted my options but I’m positive there are things out there!!

If we can’t find a hotel, would anyone be interested in a “staycation” retreat at my studio in Madison? Let me know.

3rd Quarter Simple Page Kit Bundle

Since July is the start of the 3rd quarter, the Simple Page Kit bundle is available starting Monday. If you are in my Simple Page Kit club, I will have yours for you at any of my events starting July 9th. If you did not pre-order the entire year’s bundle, I still have the Q1 and Q2 bundles available and it’s not to late to get in on the club. :)

If you just want this month’s Simple Page Kit, it will be available starting Monday, but you won’t get the folders or the bonus embellishments.

New Solid Album Colors!

CM has released some limited colors in 12x12 albums, which are available through the end of the year or WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. Some of these are bookcloth colors we’ve seen on decorated albums, and I know I personally love having a variety of options (and bright colors!). I have no idea how long these colors will last - CM buys the bookcloth for the albums in giant rolls, and when they run out they can’t always get the same color again, so if there’s one you love you might not want to wait too long.

Colors available while they last: Canary, True Red, Poppy Blue, Stone Green, Monarch Orange and Boysenberry. (Boysenberry is very close to the old Mahogany color from “Old CM” if that was one of your favorites!

Jumbo REPOSITIONABLE REFILL!!

If you have switched to the Jumbo Tape Runner (like I have!) but you’ve been wanting a repositionable refill option, here it is!!

The bad news is that it’s only a refill - so if you haven’t switched to the full Jumbo Tape Runner yet, you’ll need to go through at least one permanent runner first. IF YOU ARE LOCAL to me, I can hook you up - I will personally use the permanent refills so if you are one of the first five people who fill out the local order form and you want the case and the refill, I will pull the permanent tape from one of the existing cases and swap out the refill for you. That will mean your Jumbo Tape Runner will be in an opened package, though. :)

However since one refill is equal to 4.5 regular Tape Runner Refills, I can’t do more than five right now. We’ll see how long it takes me to use up those and then I may make this offer again. :)

If you’re not local to me, you’ll have to just buy a full Jumbo Tape Runner and swap the refills in and out.

New Trio Card Kit

The only other new item coming Monday is a new Trio Card Kit , which gives you everything you need (except adhesive!) to create three cute cards, for just $7.

New Advisor Gift is Changing!

The Advisor join gift is changing on July 1st! If you wanted the Rainbow Dots tote, you’d need to join by midnight on Monday (I can send you a picture of that or it was in my previous email). PLEASE NOTE that I will be traveling from July 24 - August 18 so if you want to pick things up from me please do it by the 23rd!!

Thanks again to all of you at the crop this weekend who showed me so much love and compassion as I was grieving my kitty. I am OH so thankful for our scrapbooking community. I wish I knew how to tell non-scrapbookers that what we do is SO MUCH MORE than just playing with paper and photos (although that’s delightfully fun!!)
