Greetings from Snowmageddon Eve, scrapbook friends! Yes, I made it home safely from Florida (which was relatively cold for Florida!) just in time for a big storm heading my way Monday morning. Forecast is talking about 7+” of snow (on top of 1/2” of ice, possibly, yikes!) and who knows what havoc that will wreak here in the South! I’ve already had both my Monday appointments (doctor and dentist - not both for me!) cancel, and if you are planning to come to one of my Tuesday events this week, well, I have bad news for you…

Read on for my event schedule and info on the fun new products being released on Monday at noon Central time. Please be aware that while CM is open for MLK day, UPS is not, so anything you order will not ship until Tuesday at the earliest.

Project Recipe Layout Class (6:00 - 8:00 pm): Tuesday, January 23. $15 to create two double page layouts.

January Jammies Crop: (This is our only weekend crop in January). Friday, January 26, noon - 9 pm and/or Saturday, January 27, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. My husband will come cook “breakfast for dinner” for us on Friday night, but sadly he has another commitment on Saturday morning so can’t cook us breakfast again the next day. We’ll just have to have him make extra Friday night!

Happy Album Circle:
Close out of 2023 group, Tuesday, January 16, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. This will be VIRTUAL ONLY due to weather.
Kickoff for the 2024 group, Tuesday, January 30, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. See below for more details.

Beginner Class

Several of the people reading this email are new (or new-ish) to me and have expressed interest in doing a “Scrapbook 101” class. We’ll meet for about two hours on Saturday, February 3rd, where I’ll go over the steps to getting started and talk about what tools and supplies you may want, and then you’ll get to create two layouts - a single page and a double page, along with a decorative border.

Even if you are not a brand-new scrapbooker, this is a great refresher and I hope you’ll learn something new! If you have a friend who has expressed interest in scrapbooking this is a great way to help them get started, and I know they’d like it better if you came with them!

Rocket City Retreat Mission 16

Only six spots left for our first retreat of 2024! We loved the new venue (SpringHill Suites Downtown Huntsville) SO much and I am excited that we get to go back there!

Thursday, February 29 - Sunday, March 3 (begins and ends at 3:00 pm). Retreat fee of $230 includes lunch and dinner during the retreat. Hotel guests have breakfast included with their room rate which is either $139/$149 per night in the all-suite hotel.

If you are considering attending but have not yet committed, be aware that the room block (with the discounted rate!) expires on February 1st. It’s much easier to cancel a room than to add one at the last minute, so if you think there’s any chance you’ll join us, you may want to go ahead and reserve a room just in case. Actual deadline to sign up for the retreat is February 15.

2024 Happy Album Circle

For the past several years I have kept up with a Happy Album Calendar Journal, and many of you have joined me. The secret is that you HAVE TO keep up with it every month - so to help with that we have a group that meets on the second Tuesday of the month. This year we are going to combine the in-person and the virtual (if that ends up not working we will split off the virtual!)

Riveting Collection

Here’s a great new collection for any kind of home renovation, new construction or general building photos you might have. My husband has developed a woodworking hobby over the last few years (I have an expensive hobby and he wanted one too!) and I think this will be a fun collection to document some of his products.

I love the new Hand Tools Border Punch, and who wouldn’t want a CM blue 1-Hole Punch to match all your other tools? This looks to be a “regular old hole punch” but hopefully the blue handle will tell my family “hands off! That’s mine!”

Coordinating with the Riveting collection (and designed to work perfectly with the 1-Hole Punch) we have the fun new Riveting Arrow Recipe Template. The holes give a manufactured look, but I think they’d also work well as footlights on a theater layout!

Also, I’m a little confused about the next item, which is Football Fever Embellishments - our Advisor email said these are an “Advisor Exclusive” which means that only Advisors can purchase them, but they’ve put a photo of them on the customer new products flyer (at the end of this email) so who knows, maybe they’ll be available for sale for you too!

Sydney Scenes

As you may know, Creative Memories is an international company, and we have Advisors in five countries. One of those is Australia, and so the next mini collection is mostly for our friends down under, however, I really think the papers and that XL Frame will work great for some of the things I scrapbook (like Disney’s Animal Kingdom!)

We’re not done yet! We have a couple more additions to our popular and fun Rainbow Dots organizers: the new Rainbow Dots Card Pod & Divider Bundle will be perfect for storing all your handmade cards, or you can use it to store Variety Mat Packs, adhesive refills, pens or other small tools. The included Rainbow Mini Dividers & Labels include 12 dividers and 30 labels (15 pre-printed category labels and 15 blank labels) that fit inside the card Pod for even more organization!

The Rainbow Dots Small Flex Pod is just like the plain black one we have had for a few months, only it’s in the cute polka dot pattern with a green interior. It features a velcro divider so you can easily move it within the pod to work with whatever you choose to store in there - I have a couple of them (the black ones) and love them for storing pens, adhesive refills and even the BMCs I want to transport to crops.

Finally, and I do mean FINALLY we have a product I’ve been hoping for for years, the Power Simple Pockets. I love the Power Project Folders, but sometimes those are just too big, and the outside pockets get caught on each other. If I just need to store a pack of paper I don’t need all that extra, but I love having a pocket to catch any scraps I may be trying to save for a future project! These come five in a pack and will fit perfectly in all our paper organizers, like the Paper Holder or the Large Pod.

Thanks for putting up with my crazy schedule over the past couple of months! So many of you have commented that my schedule makes you tired, and I’ll admit it makes me tired too! I know that eventually something is going to have to give in my life, but I can’t bear the thought of it being anything having to do with scrapbooking with my friends! So we’ll see how it all goes!

Keep your fingers crossed that the snowstorm currently headed my way fizzles out — if that happens I’ll be contacting all of you who are signed up for Tuesday’s events! I am supposed to be getting on a plane to Maryland to attend one of my team members’ weekend retreats on Wednesday and I do NOT want to be late for that!
