Quick updates

Howdy scrapbook friends! Thanks to all of you who reached out to check on me after the tornados came through Madison last Tuesday - thankfully we are okay, however one tornado was FAR too close for comfort - less than a mile away from me! I was safely in my storm shelter, I promis It did make me VERY glad that I rescheduled Project Recipe night!! I sometimes worry that I am overreacting to the “Weather Aware Days” but boy this time it was the right choice to cancel! But that means if you still want to come, you can attend our new date!

This is just a quick update because CM surprised us with a fun promo starting TUESDAY at noon, and because it’s time to open up June event registration - including an event where we’ll get to hang out with one of my “big name” CM Advisor friends who’ll be in town — Tessa Chapple!

Event Schedule

All events are held at my studio in Madison, Alabama. Registration/prepayment is required to hold your spot for the crops, but if you just want to check us out (or shop) but not stay to crop just pop in during any event.

Wednesday Day Crops: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm (new time for 2025)
Wednesday, May 28 and June 4, 11, 18, 25 (almost every Wednesday, although occasionally I have to mix things up a bit)

RESCHEDULED Project Recipe Layout Class, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Tuesday, May 27. we’ll be doing the Craft Happy and Relax into Summer Project Recipes. You can also add on the monthly Simple Page Kit for an additional $5 (it’s a $6 retail value!)

Happy Album Social Circle: Thursday, June 12, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. This is a change from our usual date because my friend CM Advisor Tessa Chapple will be in town and she is going to come to the event!! So even if you aren’t working on a Happy Album we would love to have you come bring whatever project you like and crop with us.

June Weekend Crop: Friday noon - 9:00 pm and/or Saturday 10:00 am - 6 :00pm. June 13 & 14 Come to both sessions and leave your stuff up overnight OR just pick the one day that works best for your schedule.

Our other June weekend is being devoted to the Alzheimer’s The Longest Day crop (see the next section)!

The Longest Day fundraiser crop

Many of you know that for the past two years I have partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association through their The Longest Day fundraiser. This year I am pleased to offer two options for you to be a part of this event.

First, the virtual option: On Saturday, June 21, from sunrise to sunset on the longest day of the year (the Summer Solstice) we’ll be releasing video tutorials from fifteen great CM designers featuring exclusive layouts created just for this fundraiser.

You can access the layouts through a dedicated Facebook group OR choose an email option if you are not on Facebook. Because everything is pre-recorded, if you can’t participate live, you’ll have ongoing access to the videos and printable handouts.

When I advertised this to all of you last week, I said it was a $25 minimum donation. However, as my fellow designers have seen how many people are involved, they feel like $25 is too low, so the price you’ll see advertised online is $35. If $25 is all you feel like you have to donate, that is okay, I will make up the difference ONLY for those of you subscribed to my email list!

If you are able to attend in person on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28, you’ll get the virtual session PLUS an in-person crop at my studio in Madison. This was a great deal when the virtual price was $25 and it’s even better at $35. Price for the in-person is a minimum donation of $50 and I will be donating all the food so you won’t even need to bring a potluck item!

This event is already more than halfway filled up, however, so if you are considering it you will want to sign up sooner rather than later. Once the in-person spots are filled I will note that on the info page.

If you want both you’ll need to come up with $270, but that’s just a few page refills and adhesives, right?? :)

Because of the Memorial Day holiday, this promo starts at noon on TUESDAY and is scheduled to end at noon on Friday or while supplies last.

Rocket City Scrapbook Retreat UPDATE

I got some bad news this week - the hotel where we have LOVED having our retreats has decided to double what they are charging me for the crop room rental, after already jacking up the price of the hotel rooms last time. This makes the cost of the retreat outside the realm of what I would ever pay for a retreat, and FAR beyond what I would ever ask YOU to pay. So… I am still working with them and maybe they’ll reconsider, but until they do, our September retreat is on hold.

I am not sure what happens if we lose this venue - I’ve had this happen at every single hotel in the Huntsville area that has space big enough for us. It’s very frustrating and discouraging. I hope some of you who usually come in from out of town for retreats will consider coming to one of my monthly crop weekends instead, at least while we figure out what the heck to do. I love my retreat friends!!

Because there are no new products for sale this time, I am not doing a preorder form, however if you are local and would like me to order for you, please EMAIL ME with what you want. Remember that you can get the promo with a $135 order or get both of them at $270.

You can pick up your order at any of my events, or if you are going to be in the area, let me know and I will do my best to connect with you at a time that works for both of us.
