Quick last-minute update!

Howdy, scrapbook friends! I had SO hoped there would not be anything I needed to tell you about because my husband and I went away for the weekend to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and I wanted to take the weekend off! We had a lovely time, even if it went by far too quickly (apparently going to Japan for two weeks at the beginning of the year makes vacation days even more precious!)

But we had a lovely time and can’t quite believe it’s been FORTY years. It’s true, we are both way too young for that. :) Yes, we were babies. But we still feel like we haven’t managed to grow up enough to be “real” grownups yet!

But we are home now and (although I seriously considered skipping this week’s email) I couldn’t NOT tell you, because I know that this is something several of you are excited about.

Only two new and one almost-new products coming Monday, and I will have all of them for you to check out in person at my crop this weekend. NEXT week (on August 17th) we have the much anticipated release of CM’s new Die Cutting System along with some great 12” dies and embossing folders, so stay tuned for that.

Event Schedule

Even though I had hoped for a weekend off, this does give me one more chance to entice you (hopefully) to a cropping event. Because of school starting last week I ended up moving Scrap Journal to THIS Tuesday, so it’s not too late to join us for that.

Scrap Journal Club: 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Work on your July Scrap Journal layouts OR any project you like. $10
Tuesday, August 11

Wednesday Day Crops: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
August 5, 12, 19 & 29
No frills, just time to work on your current projects. Bring your lunch or we’ll go in together on a DoorDash order. $10.

Weekend Crops: Friday noon - 9 pm and/or Saturday 10 am - 6 pm
August 14 & 15 (pizza & sandwiches crop) - only TWO spots left for the full weekend, and four for Friday only.
August 28 & 29 (potluck crop)
$20 for one day or $30 for both days

Project Recipe Class: 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Come create two double page layouts using some of CM’s newest collections. I’ll provide the “ingredients” and the directions and we’ll build the layouts together. $20 basic or $35 deluxe (which includes 2 packs of stickers).

Ocean Treasures Use-the-Pack Class

Four spots left for this class being held on Thursday, August 13th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

This is a class I designed for Creative Memories so of course it’s one of my favorites — and hopefully I won’t do my infamous “well, the directions say to do X but I think Y would be better!”

Class fee is $20.00 and will include everything you need to create two double page layouts, one single page layout and a bonus card. You just need to bring your own 12” Trimmer and adhesive, and, if you have the Custom Cutting System with the Jumbo Circle Template and red blade please bring that too.

If you are not able to attend the class but would still like the class kit, which includes the printed directions, you can do that too. Pickup $20, mailed $25. I will plan to send off the kits on Friday, the day after the in-person class, so those of you who have signed up for that, watch your mailbox. :)

New Organizers!

Is it ever possible to have your scrapbook supplies TOO organized? To quote the famous Tootsie Roll Pop owl, “the world may never know!” But we keep trying, right? Coming tomorrow we have THREE great options that will help you corral that clutter that scrapbooking seems to collect.

First up we have the AWESOME new Studio Backpack, designed to fit a 12x12 album, plus all the essentials you need for a crop. (I did say essentials - most of us bring lots more than that!) I got to see this in Cabo this spring and it’s a lovely backpack. Excellent quality in a neutral black so you can use it for more than just scrapbooking. There’s a whole video showing it off on the “sneak preview” page which I will link to in the “how to order” section below.

Coordinating with the Studio Backpack is the Studio Case, perfect for keeping all the little bits and pieces together while you’re on the go. It has TWO zippered sections to keep you organized - and is also shown on the video by our Product Development Manager.

Finally - the Rolling Utility Bag in the popular Rainbow Dots pattern! CM originally released this as a preorder, and I of course had to have one for myself but also ordered a couple extra, just in case that was going to be the only chance. I personally have a perfect place where I could use a few of these, so figured I wouldn’t mind a couple extra, but when I pulled it out of the box to show at my crops a couple of weeks ago, everyone loved these! Which makes me very happy that apparently CM ordered some extra as well, and they are available starting tomorrow morning WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. I don’t think that will be very long, but I have no idea how many they ordered. :)

Hooray! Custom Spines are BACK!

I have had several people ask me over the past few months when we’d be able to make custom spines again, and the wait is finally over!! They’ve made some updates to the website interface which sound like they will make it even easier to have a beautiful way to keep track of which album is which on your shelves.

CROPTOBERFEST!

Several of you have reached out asking about Croptoberfest registration, and because I knew I was going to be out of town this weekend I decided to open up registration NEXT Sunday, August 16th. I DO expect both sessions of Croptoberfest to sell out, and because my daughter is getting married the fourth weekend in October I am unable to add any additional sessions.

So get with your cropping friends now to figure out which dates work best for your group: October 8-10 or 15-17 and be ready to reserve your spot next Sunday!

Although there are only three items, they’re all fairly big-ticket items so if you would like me to order one for you to pickup at this weekend’s crop (or sometime in the near future) please use my August 10th Local Preorder Form.
