Welcome to official Spring, scrapbook friends! What a week - we started it with SNOW in Alabama and sub-freezing temps, and ended it with gorgeous 80º weather. What a weird world!

I am thrilled by the response to National Scrapbook Day registrations - session two is completely SOLD OUT - but I know that’s hard for those of you who didn’t get a chance to sign up yet. This is why I added a third option, and hopefully the remaining dates will work for you.

We have a fun new lakeside collection releasing Monday PLUS a gift with purchase promo, which all you nature lovers are sure to love! Even I love it and I’m not particularly naturey!

Event Schedule

March isn’t quite over but I’m going to go ahead and open registration for April since I think this is our last product release for the month. All crops are held at my studio in Madison, Alabama, and if you can’t make time to crop, drop-in shoppers or visitors wanting to check things out are always welcome during an event.

Pre-registration is required for all cropping events via Google Forms, so once you’ve looked at the options please click the link at the bottom of this section to sign up!

Wednesday Day Crops: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Wednesday March 25, April 1, 15, 22 and 29. No frills, just time to work on your current projects. Bring your lunch or we’ll go in together on a DoorDash order. No crop April 8th because I will be on the Creative Memories incentive trip to Cabo San Lucas. THANK YOU to all of you who helped me earn the trip!

April 3/4 This one is our monthly potluck crop but please don’t let that scare you. :)

Come create two double page layouts using some of CM’s newest collections. I’ll provide the “ingredients” and the directions and we’ll build the layouts together. This time we’ll be doing Global Getaway and Spring Equinox. (For April I think it’ll be Birthday Bash and Bundle of Joy).

National Scrapbook Day!!!

So excited to see you for National Scrapbook Day! Session two is completely SOLD OUT and I have a wait list but there are still two weekends to choose from:

Choose your session:
April 16 -18 or April 30 - May 2

Thursday 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm (dinner provided)
Friday 10:00 am - 8:00 pm (lunch and dinner)
Saturday 10:00 am - 8:00 pm (lunch and dinner)

Each session will be identical with 25 hours of crop time over three days, five meals, layout classes using CM products, a paper buffet and a goody bag with exclusive CM items. Crop fee is $120 for the full weekend. If I have space when it gets closer I may be able to open up partial spots (like Friday or Saturday only) so please let me know if that is something you’d be interested in.

NEW Website!

The new website is LIVE - but as expected there are a few bugs. I hope you will check it out and tell me what you think.

My website link should still work, however you will probably need to create a new account since it’s a completely different web platform. (It’s hosted by Shopify though, so if you use that platform with other businesses it might be a painless transition!) I believe you can also shop without creating an account - but you’ll need an account if you want to save anything to your cart and come back later!

I love the video capabilities, the bright colors and the way things are grouped together. To ADD something to an order, just hover over the image and the little “add to cart” icon will pop up, or you can click on the image and it’ll take you to the info page.

I also really love the “find an event” option which has things arranged in what looks like a much easier format to browse through.

OOPS on the new trimmer!

My shipment of trimmers arrived this weekend and I’ve had a little time to play with the new, wider base trimmer, and I LOVE IT. It is so wonderful to not have to fold out the extension arm!! Also feeling how snugly the dual-track closes and just how “tight” everything feels has made me realize that my existing trimmer has really loosened up over the last ten years that I’ve had it and it really is time for a new one!

However - AFTER the trimmers got into the hands of many of us this week, someone discovered a mistake on the cutting grid. They have a few marked off guides for the most popular paper/photo sizes BUT they accidentally put the 4x4 line on the 4x5 measurement guide! Ack!!

I personally do not ever use those guides (and the 4x4 was new, anyway, which is probably how this error happened) and personally do not think it will hinder my use of the trimmer in ANY way - except to feel REALLY bad for all the people at CM HQ who missed this in the pre-production proofing! however I have heard from a couple of other people that this is a deal-breaker for them, and want to be upfront with you about the error. CM is working on some solutions, which may involve some sort of decal to stick over the mistake, but personally I don’t think it will matter to me at all and I’m not going to put the decal over the mistake. It’ll just remind me that everyone is human, and that some mistakes are more public than others!!

If, however, this will be a problem for you, my suggestion is that you wait a few months until they can manufacture a new batch with the correct measurement for that 4x4 piece. ALL of the other measurements are marked correctly (and it’s REALLY nice to have the numbers for the 1/8 and 1/16 measurements on there!)

Lakeside Memories

I’ve been trying to guess what might be coming out this time and have to admit that I totally forgot about a lake-themed collection. I think that’s everything - I’m finally over my jet lag but turns out I’m still bad at going to bed on time so I continue to be a bit foggy. :)

I have no idea when our next product release will be - I’m pretty sure it won’t be April 8th because that’s the week of the CM trip to Cabo, but who knows.
