Alzheimer’s Fundraiser & new Heritage collections

Happy National Scrapbook month, scrapbook friends! As I write this I’m finally sitting down in my recliner after our super fun National Scrapbook Day celebration! So thankful for the 22 croppers who were able to join me - and the 24 that are coming to session two in two weeks! We had lots of fun - and the favorite part was probably our special guest garden tour guide!!

During the event we got the preview email from CM which has SO many fun things coming out on Monday, May 19th! I absolutely love the new Legacy of Love collection (especially the album cover!), and the fun Through the Years collection makes me glad that I haven’t gotten around to scrapbooking all my childhood photos yet!

Event Schedule

At NSD this weekend, we had the chance to talk about some of the different events I offer at my studio in Madison, Alabama, and I hope that some more of you will decide to give those a try!

Wednesday Day Crops: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm (new time for 2025)
Wednesday, May 21 and 28 (almost every Wednesday, although occasionally I have to mix things up a bit)

Project Recipe Layout Class, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Tuesday, May 20 - we’ll be doing the Craft Happy and Relax into Summer Project Recipes. You can also add on the monthly Simple Page Kit for an additional $5 (it’s a $6 retail value!)

Ordinarily I have two Friday/Saturday crops every month, but because of having two NSDs this month, our next crops aren’t till June: June 13 & 14 and our 3rd annual Alzheimer’s fundraiser crop June 27 & 28. Details about that one below.

The Longest Day fundraiser crop

Thanks for your patience with me as I figured out what we are going to do this year. Last year’s event with Noreen Smith IN PERSON here in Madison will be hard to beat, but I think we might come close!

Registration for these events will consist of a donation directly to the Alzheimer’s Association THROUGH OUR GROUP LINK - which may be tax deductible depending on your own tax situation. All the Advisors involved are donating their time, and I’m donating my venue and the food for the in person event.

On the actual Longest Day of the year June 21st, we have put together an amazing Virtual Fundraiser event with some AWESOME CM Advisor friends, including Meggan Jacks, Donna Guest, Melissa Ullman, Karyn McDermaid-Rolfe, Krislyn Mattei, Tessa Chapple, Sheri Tilley and Kim Spilman! There are others I’ve reached out to who are checking their schedules, but you can bet you’ll get a LOT of great ideas!

This event will feature PRE-RECORDED videos that will be released from dawn to dusk on June 21st, the longest day of the year. Then you’ll have a couple of weeks to create a layout based on each presenter’s idea to enter to win door prizes!

For those who are able to attend here in Madison, we’ll be doing an IN-PERSON crop on Friday, June 27 from noon - 9 pm and Saturday, June 28 from 10 am - 6 pm. If you register for the in person event you will also get access to the virtual event!!

The minimum donation to participate in the VIRTUAL event is just $25 (although we hope you’ll be able to donate more!) and the minimum to attend in person is $50.

Creative Memories surprised me this week with some products that coordinate with last year’s Alzheimer’s collection — I had not heard anything from them about doing something for Alzheimer’s fundraising (although I do not know if any of the proceeds will be dedicated to research), but I am SO excited to have the Treasured Memories album covers in the 12x12 size that I actually use - AND in a choice of three colors! Hyacinth Shimmer, Steel Gray or Champagne Gold!

Do you have “heritage” photos that don’t necessarily fit the old-fashioned style of the Legacy of Love collection? Maybe your heritage is (like mine) bell bottoms and roller skates?? Jumbo Tape Runner is BACK!!

When the Jumbo Tape Runner launched a few months back, I don’t think CM realized how much we were interested in a product that would take the place of 4 1/2 regular Tape Runners! It’s the same tape that we know and love, but in a 150 foot length! I didn’t think I “needed” this, but now that I have used it, I love it! Refills are also available, and it saves you over $9 compared to buying the standard size refills if you switch to the jumbo! (No repositional adhesive yet, but we are hopeful!)
