Konichiwa, Scrapbook Friends! I am coming to you this time from beautiful Osaka, Japan, where we are just wrapping up an amazing family trip. It’s been delightful (and cold!) and I can’t wait to get home and tell you all about it!
Saturday I had the wonderful privilege of spending the day with Sachiyo Omitsu, who many of you “know” from her time as a talented designer for CM (she created the Your Own Way Project Playbook, among many other things!) but who has now relocated back to Japan. I was thrilled when she offered to come tour around Kyoto with us. She’s a great tour guide and oh it was nice to have a native Japanese speaker with us as we navigated around town!

I wasn’t sure I’d be able to send this email to you because of our travel schedule, but because it was so cold (at least for me who is used to Alabama weather!) we were back at our hotel by 8 pm so I have a few minutes to check in with you!
Which is good because we have a HUGE new product release coming on Monday (and I did not send you an email last week when we had a relatively small release, but I will tell you all about that too!)

Consider yourself warned that I’m sure I’m going to want to be talking all about this trip so if you come to something in the next few weeks, be prepared to hear about it! All crops are held at my studio in Madison, Alabama, and drop in shoppers are always welcome during any scheduled event.

Many of you have been asking me about when we’d be getting a new baby collection and I’m happy to say it is finally here! Bundle of Joy! In case you aren’t aware of CM’s product release schedule, we generally get new baby and wedding collections every other year - wedding is coming in May!
I love the adorable album covers with a baby mobile on them, plus there are regular Designer Papers AND Fast2Fab inspired papers, stickers, mats, embellishments and monthly title embellishments. The Bundle of Joy BMC features the classic stork carrying a baby bundle, and the Footprints punch is so very cute! It’s a knockout design - and I think this might be the first time we have had that style for a stand-alone punch?? In the Playbook I combined it with the Custom Cutting System circles and that worked really well. I can’t wait to see how other people use it!

I was lucky enough to get to do TWO Project Playbooks this time - Bundle of Joy and Spring Equinox (which was released last week when I was on vacation and didn’t email you - more on that one below!) and I even managed to create two versions, one that’s more “boy” themed and one that’s more “girl” themed (basically the only difference is which sticker pack you use and whether the accent color is pink or blue! I think Bundle of Joy is probably one of my favorite Playbooks so far!

We’ve also got the fun new Birthday Bash collection, and I love the bright, bold colors and fun designs of this one! This collection also includes both Designer Papers and Fast2Fab papers along with the mats, stickers and embellishments we always get. The album cover is on Caribbean Blue bookcloth and has a fun birthday candles design.
The punches with this one include the Party Balloons Border Punch, which looks a LOT like a punch we had a few years ago which was a balloon border. But that one had the little “cutout” sections that were supposed to look like a highlight on the balloon, and this one is solid. So… if you have the previous version you might not “need” this one too, but if you missed it back then, now’s your chance! There’s also a fun Festive Bursts BMC which creates a knockout confetti design, and since birthday is the main card-sending occasion for many of us, I’m glad that there’s also a Birthday Bash Card Kit! |

I truly have no idea what is going on with CM’s product release calendar. I had SO hoped that I wouldn’t miss any product launches while I was off roaming the globe, but alas, it wasn’t to be. AND this is the other collection that I was able to do the Project Playbook for!
Spring Equinox is a totally different kind of Spring collection for CM - instead of just all-pastels-all-the-time, they threw in some navy and dark green, and a different vibe with the themes of animals and the moon. I wasn’t sure what I thought about it when I first saw it, but after I had a chance to play with it I really enjoyed having something so different to create with. If you purchase the Project Playbook and create the layouts I’d love to know what you think of them!

Noon Central Time on Monday will be 3:00 am Tuesday for me (on my second-to-last day in Japan) so there is always a chance stuff will sell out before I wake up and have a chance to order, but I will do my best! If you “can’t live without” something you may want to order directly on my website, but otherwise I should have everything for pickup by the day crop on Wednesday, March 11th.
If you plan to order on my website - whether you are local or not, I am able to offer you a $10 CM Credit to offset your shipping charges. I didn’t do this last month because of CM’s free shipping — but boy did that back up the shipping department! We love a bargain! Hopefully they will have caught up from all of that by Monday and we can go back to being spoiled by quick deliveries!

That’s it for now! I only have a few days left here in Japan, then the long flight home (Tokyo to Atlanta - it was 14 hours coming over but hopefully going home we will be flying WITH the jetstream instead of against it) and thankfully then my son and I have a couple of days to recover. My husband and my daughters are all going back to work the day after we get back!! Bring on the caffeine!
Then, I hope hope hope the new 12” Trimmer might be coming NEXT week Monday! I’ve heard rumors of March 9th… and I was so worried it would happen while I was gone! I promise to let you know as soon as I know something. (But if you have our existing 12” Trimmer that one is still a fabulous trimmer - the new one will be almost identical, just a little bit wider!)
