Hello Scrapbook Friends! Hope you are keeping cool during this crazy heat! Hooray for a/c and scrapbooking!

Sorry this email is late - I just got home from a wonderful (but crazy busy!) weekend at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Atlanta (Duluth) Georgia where I was able to work in the Creative Memories booth - I got to see several of you and that was super fun! I took my laptop so that I could write you this morning before I got on the road, but alas, it’s on its last legs and wouldn’t turn on, so I had to wait till I made it home where my trusty desktop is! I hope you will still have time to plan your purchases for the BIG PROMO that launches Monday, July 17th at noon Central time!

That’s right! As has become a tradition for Creative Memories, there’s a midsummer spend/get promo, which I have been predicting for several months, so hopefully you’ve already got a list of “never outs” that you can order to earn free stuff!

But first, let me talk to you about a few events:

Create & Connect

My special event with Diane Lampert from the CM Home Office is less than two weeks away! Selfishly, I would really like to have a great turnout so that I can impress her, but I can’t do that without YOU!

I hope you will drop in and create a few make & take projects, check out what’s new with CM, look at my event schedule, and of course BRING A FRIEND so we can expand our cropping circle! (If you bring a friend who is new to me you’ll be entered to win a $50 shopping spree - and I think that Diane will have a gift for you as well!) We’ll also have snacks!

Event listing

I would love to have you at one of my events this summer! You can always see the full schedule on my website, and I encourage you to bookmark that page which I try to update a couple of times a month. All events are held at my studio in Madison, Alabama unless otherwise noted. If you want to sign up for multiple events you can do that here.

Project Recipe Layout Class (6:00 - 8:00 pm): THIS Tuesday, July 18. Create two layouts using Seas, Please and Fur Baby. (Please let me know if you want the cat version or the dog version - there is also a non-pet related option!)

Weekend crops (Friday noon - 9:00 pm and/or Saturday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm)
Our next crop is THIS WEEKEND, July 21 & 22. Many of our regular croppers are traveling so we have several open spots, if you would like to join us! (Next crop is August 11 & 12).

Wednesday Day Crops (9:00 am - 2:30 pm) Wednesdays, July 19, 26, and TUESDAY, August 1 (since I will have company starting that night).

Rocket City Scrapbook Retreat

We are just about six weeks away from Mission 15 of the Rocket City Scrapbook Retreat! We are doing this over Labor Day weekend again so you can choose a 4-day or a 5-day option. August 30 - September 3 or 4. A few people have asked me about partial weekend options and if those are going to be available I will announce that in my email on July 30th.

If you are local and would like me to place your order for you so you can pick it up at one of my future events, I am happy to do that. I need your order by Monday morning at 11 am Central in order to combine our orders and have it by this weekend! Orders MUST BE SENT BY EMAIL - I have learned the hard way too many times that I cannot keep up with multiple formats like texting or in person comments.

If you are not local I sure appreciate your business on my website, and UPS will bring your online order direct to your door! I do anticipate the website to be SLAMMED right at noon, so CM will be implementing their Queue-it system. Anyone who accesses the website between 11:30 and 11:59 will be randomly added to the queue when it opens at noon, so there is no need to get on too early. Usually I am able to get through within 10-15 minutes, and the queue system is turned off as website traffic slows, usually by 2 pm.

But wait!! There’s more!!

At the beginning of the month when CM introduced the 3rd quarter Totally Tonals collection (Canary, Kelly Green and Pumpkin) the bundle included not only the bonus coordinating cardstock but also a set of exclusive journal mats! If you love mats and wish you could get some for the other six colors, now you can!

From July 17-28 (or while supplies last) you can purchase the Q1 or Q2 Totally Tonal Bonus Bundle and get the cardstock and mats FREE! The only way to get those bonus products is through these bundles, while they last!

Finally - there are some changes coming to our beloved Foam Squares! They have heard our pleas for varied sizes (previously only available in one of the Secret Boxes!) and so in the near future, CM will be transitioning from the current style (one sheet each of 1/2” and 1/4” squares) to a Foam Squares Variety Pack (two identical sheets with a combination of 5/8”, 1/2”, 3/8” and 1/4”).

That’s it for this midmonth update! I hope you are as excited about the promo items as I am! Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the UPS strike doesn’t happen (you know how in the movies the bomb timer always ticks down to the very last second before the hero saves the day?) but I gotta admit I’m going to be stocking up on a few things just in case!
